PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain diverse double faced woven fabrics comprising a right pile ground weave and a back raised ground weave which are mutually independent, capable of freely defining the weaving constitution for each weave and suitable for various uses. SOLUTION: This double faced woven fabric comprises the right and back two surfaces composed of mutually independent weaves. The right side is a pile weave 1 of formed piles 2 and the back side is a raised plain weave 3 subjected to raising 4. Ground warp yarns of the back raised weave 3 are entangled at a suitable interval with the right pile weave 1 and both the right and the back weaves are moderately integrated. Cotton yarns are used in the pile weave 1 and cotton non-twist yarns are used as the pile warp yarns. Cotton or wool yarns are used in the raised weave 3.
