<p>The external cavity diode laser and method of generating light comprising: generating light from Fabry-Perot diode laser source (12); collimating light from the source (12) with an intracavity optical element (14); reflecting light via a feedback mirror (18); employing a diffraction grating (16) to receive light from the optical element (14), defract received light to the mirror (18) in a non-zero order; receive reflected light from the mirror (18), and direct the reflected light back towards the optical element (14) and Fabry-Perot diode laser to complete an external cavity (12), the diffraction grating (16) additionally directing a portion of the received light from the optical element (14) toward a target.</p> |
