<p>A preflight system having a printer profile database containing a first list of problem document elements classified in a first category and a second list of problem document elements classified in a second category. The system also has an analyzer that compares document elements from a print file provided by a print buyer with the problem document elements in the first list and the second list to identify problem document elements occurring in the print file, and compiles a categorization list of the problem document elements occurring in the print file that identifies the category for one or more of the problem document elements occurring in the print file. The analyzer may then provide the categorization list to the print buyer, the print vendor, or both. In particular, the analyzer may post the categorization list to a Web page accessible to the print buyer and the print vendor. Alternately or additionally, the analyzer may provide the categorization list to the print vendor as XML data.</p> |
