PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium capable of avoiding that when a mask layer is repetitively used, a mask material is deteriorated and transmittance is heightened or a mask effect is lessened even when irradiating light is weak. SOLUTION: The number of repetitive use times of a mask layer 4 is greatly enhanced, when at least one kind of bisphenol based compounds having a specific structure in their chemical formulae is used especially as an electron acceptive developer out of the constituting components of a thermochromic material which forms the mask layer 4.
