PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable recording of images continuously on the recording medium used in the previous imaging, even after the recording medium is inserted into a slot different from the previously inserted slot, in an electronic camera provided with a plurality of media slots. SOLUTION: ID information, associated with a memory card 46A (or 46B) with the latest images recorded thereon by imaging, is stored beforehand in an EEPROM 32. When a card is thereafter re-inserted, agreement or disagreement between the ID information of the inserted memory card and the previously stored ID information is checked, and any memory card containing the identical ID information is automatically selected as the target of recording. Alternatively, mark information indicating 'medium to which recording was made the latest' may be written in the memory card with the latest images recorded thereon, and when the card is thereafter re-inserted, the memory card containing the latest mark information may be selected automatically as the target of the recording. Another embodiment where either card with more or less free space is automatically selected is possible. |
