IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus that enhances the read resolution of an image with high accuracy and simple control employing a conventional drive mechanism without causing positional deviation in the case of image synthesis. SOLUTION: A calibration opening 53 is provided to a film holder for calibration purpose and the opening 53 is used for an index means that is provided in the vicinity of the read position of an original image by an image pickup element. The edge part of the opening 53 is a characteristic point acting like an index to decide a read start position.
