PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To indicate the possibility of entry of recording reservation, when a viewer sets the recording reservation of program in a hard disk, by calculating the remaining capacity of the hard disk for reservation in execution of recording reservation. SOLUTION: When recording reservation is set through an operation input part 110, a system controller 80 judges a record which is automatically erased in reserved recording settings stored in a RAM 84 until the execution of the present recording reservation, and compares the remaining capacity of hard disks 61 to 63 at the time of the present recording reservation with a capacity necessary for the present reservation. When the capacity is judged to be short in size, possibility that recording by reservation cannot be made is indicated.
