PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modulation degree transfer ability measuring device capable of executing smoothly modulation degree transfer ability measurement of a lens even when an imaging element having offset in the negative direction is used. SOLUTION: This device has a light source 3 for irradiating light toward a lens 1 to be tested, a chart 2 for inspection of the lens to be tested arranged between the lens 1 to be tested and the light source 3, a chart light quantity changing means for changing the quantity of light reaching the lens 1 to be tested from the chart 2, an imaging element 4 for imaging a chart image formed through the lens 1 to be tested, and outputting the image as an electric signal, and a computer device 7 for obtaining a sensitivity characteristic (light quantity - light output characteristic) of the imaging element 4 from the signals of each chart image having the changed light quantity and imaged by the imaging element 4, and measuring the modulation degree transfer ability of the lens 1 to be stored following the obtained sensitivity characteristic.
