PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for an automobile air bag gas producer assembly establishing a mechanical and electrical fitting with a socket connector. SOLUTION: This connector is for the automobile air bag gas producer assembly needing only one operation to establish both the mechanical and electrical interfitting with the socket connector and needing three independent operations to be removed from the socket connector. In an advanced embodiment of this connector, a clamshell housing and cover provided for the connector so that an installer can directly terminate an electrical conductor at a contact inside the connector. The connector can hold either an induction coil or ferrite beads for suppressing induced current. The connector can terminate both a standard cross sectionally circular cable and a flat cable.
