PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate fuel injector for thermal expansion and mechanical deformation, as the fuel injector forms an opening 28 and comprises a tube assembly having a fuel flow seat part 26, a core assembly 40 having a cap 48 and a core 46, and a plurality of piezoelectric element sets 52 and 54. SOLUTION: A first set of a piezoelectric element moves a cap according to a first field, and the second set of the piezoelectric element moves the first set of the piezoelectric element according to a second field. A sensor 60 for measuring a clearance 47 compensates the second field according to the physical variation of at least one of a tube assembly and a core assembly.
