PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small vertical pump which has a compact shape and enable the assembly and exchange of consumables from the installed pump. SOLUTION: This vertical pump has a low profile by erecting a center cone 12 on an attachable/detachable inspection window 11 in a bottom of a spiral suction casing 10, pivotably supporting a lower end of a spindle 1 thereby to reduce the radial load, and shortening a guide casing 5. The number of guide vanes 6 connected to the guide casing 5 is increased by three to five compared with the number of blades of an impeller 8 disposed on a casing liner 7, and the pump is miniaturized. The diameter of the inspection window 11 and the diameter of an outlet 10a of the spiral suction easing 10 are set to be larger than the outside diameter so as to enable the check and exchange of consumables.
