A release system for a dryplate clutch has a release bearing (21) inside a release bearing housing (20) which has two grip tags diametrically opposite in a horizontal plane. To align the system during assembly into the power train a ballast mass is provided at the bottom edge of the release bearing housing. The release bearing grips the inner edge of the clutch membrane. The clutch release linkage has two tilt levers which grip behind the release tags to pull the release bearing in the direction of the engine and thereby pull the clutch into the released position.
