PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the moving object can not be accurately extracted. SOLUTION: This device has a 1st step in which the respective background images of a background image sequence obtained by image picking-up a background including no moving object for a prescribed period are divided into a plurality of small areas that are preliminarily determined and the correlation of luminance values among pixels included in the respective small areas with time is also calculated, a 2nd step in which the correlation calculated in the 1 step is stored, and a 3rd step in which a moving object is extracted from an extraction object image sequence by dividing the extraction object image that includes the background and is the extraction object of a moving object area into a plurality of small areas that are preliminarily determined and also deciding the existence/absence of the moving object area by using the luminance value of each pixel included in the respective small areas of each extraction object image and the correlation stored in the 2nd step. |
