PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar clutch having a large number of notches for substantially simultaneously engaging a large number of claws and two or more claws and balancing by sharing eccentric force of engagement of a driving plate and a driven plate. SOLUTION: The claws 26 have opposed compressive load support surfaces 34 and 36 for engaging with a shoulder part in a driving notch and a shoulder part in a driving pocket. When rotating a planar driving member in the first specific direction, the driving plate rotates the driven plate in the same direction around the axis. A cross section of the respective claws is thick in an intermediate area between the two opposed compressive load support surfaces. A rotary peak part 40 is arranged in the thickest area of the claws.
