PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of efficiency deterioration, and also voltage exceeding a DC supply voltage being not applied to a DS series motor since power is consumed by a resistor that is connected in series in the control device of a conventional DC series motor. SOLUTION: This controlling device of the DC series motor is composed of a DC-coupling reactor, a DC capacitor, a single-phase PWM converter and an AC-coupling reactor, and detects a DC current for controlling the output voltage of the single-phase PWM converter, thus controlling a voltage applied to the DC series motor.
