PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor, by which the phase of a sampling clock used in the A/D conversion of a static image signal is adjusted automatically to a proper phase. SOLUTION: Image data which is digitized by an A/D conversion part 1 is stored once in a memory part 4. In a difference detection part 5, image data on a present field is compared with image data on an immediately preceding field which is read out from the memory part 4, and the difference between both fields is found. In a deciding part 6, when the difference is at a prescribed value or less, the image is decided as being a static image. When the static image is judged, a control part 7 selects the tap (a to n) of a phase adjustment part 3, in such a way that the difference data from the part 5 becomes a prescribed value or less. Thereby, the phase of a clock signal CKo generated by a clock generation part 2 is shifted, and a clock CKs at a proper phase is supplied to the part 1 as the sampling clock.
