摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blind adaptive equalization method that can adjust an equalizer parameter at a high-speed with high reliability for a reproduced signal. SOLUTION: The blind adaptive equalization method of this invention gives an evaluation function to evaluate an equalizer output on the basis of the entropy minimum method, adjusts the equalizer parameter to adaptively optimize the equalizer output and adopts the configuration of the algorithm characteristically including a step where a finite number of consecutive reproduction signals are selected as one block and a probability density function is estimated for each block by using a kurtosis of object data in each block as to a state of the equalizer output especially, a step where the evaluation function of the block is adaptively selected from the order of the estimated probability density function, and a step where an equalizer parameter of a succeeding block is adjusted at each sampling time based on the selected evaluation function. This method provides an excellent converging characteristic as recognized from a simulation result denoting the converging characteristic by the M.S.E. shown in Figure 4.
