PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a drawn polyimide film and a drawn polyimide fiber having high strength. SOLUTION: A polyisoimide is drawn and then imidated. Preferably the polyisoimide is swollen with a solvent in the drawing and the polyisoimide is formed by introducing a polyamic acid into a solution of a condensation agent.
