Two access shafts (3, 4) at opposite ends (5, 6) of the sewer section (1) being renovated are opened, and the sewer (7) upstream from both of these ends is blocked off. A towing cable (8) is passed through the access shafts and sewer section, a device (9) in at least one end of the sewer section is used to introduce the lining (2) into this section via a first shaft (3), and then by releasably securing a towing device (10) to the front end (11) of the lining and winding the cable up at the second shaft (4), the lining is pulled through the entire sewer section. An UV irradiation device is introduced inside the lining and the two ends (11, 12) of the lining are closed so that the lining can be inflated and cured, after which the UV device is removed. An Independent claim is also included for the renovation kit used in this method.
