PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition for an automotive weather strip and a glass run, with high adhesion to EPDM rubber and high abrasion resistance, and to provide a method for producing the automotive weather strip and the glass run. SOLUTION: This coating composition for automotive weather strip and glass run is obtained by incorporating a curing-type urethane-based emulsion coating with at least two silane coupling agents each having amino group, epoxy group, methacryloxy group or acryloxy group or a reaction product thereof. The other objective method for producing a weather strip comprises the following process: a thermoplastic elastomer as a half-finished product of the weather strip is extruded, and concurrently coated with an urethane-based water-based coating continuously, or an extruded half-finished product rolled in advance is unrolled and concurrently coated with an urethane-based water-based coating continuously, and the above water-based coating is then dried and cured in a hot oven, the resultant half-finished product discharged from the hot oven is coated with an aminosilicone compound or an urethane- based water-based coating containing an amino group-bearing silicone compound followed by drying the coating to effect curing. |
