PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Ti-Cr-α based hydrogen storage alloy enlarged in the quantity of hydrogen to be occluded. SOLUTION: This hydrogen storage alloy in which the composition of the main components is expressed by Ti100-x-yCrxαy, 50<=x (mol%)<=62.5, 0<=y (mol%)<=10.0; wherein, α is one or more kinds selected from Al, Mn, V, Mo, Fe, Co and Ni, the oxygen equivalent calculated from the oxygen equivalent being the carbon concentration (mass%) + the nitrogen concentration (mass%) ×2.97 + the carbon concentration (mass%) × 1.13 is <=0.45 mass%, also having a body-centered cubic (bcc) type crystal structure and large in the quantity of hydrogen to be occluded is produced by a powder production method in which a levitation dissolving part 2 in a vacuum or in an inert gas and a gas atomizing part 3 are combined. |
