PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transponder system which can reduce the storage capacity for data and its circuit element for communication. SOLUTION: A transponder 10 regards four bits of digital information in terms of a processing unit and stores the 4-bit information by using one byte of a memory 14. Consequently, the amount of information which can be stored in a fixed-capacity memory can be made larger than when 1-bit information is stored by using one byte of the memory. Further, information is communicated to an interrogator by using four bits in terms of a processing unit, so transmission processing can be performed by pieces of information read out of one type of the memory 14, so that the circuit constitution can be simplified. |
