PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber array capable of recording a picture of a high density without enlarging the size of the picture surface. SOLUTION: Four positioning holes FH are formed by surface grooves RD and rear surface grooves WD of respective spacer substrates 401-403 and positioning grooves FD of pressing substrates 404, 405, and optical fiber columns 31a-31d are inserted into respective positioning holes FH and are positioned. When the number of the optical fiber columns denotes N and the pitch of the optical fiber denoter P, since the surface grooves RD and the rear surface grooves WD of respective spacer substrates 401-403 are mutually deviated by P/N in the Y direction, all optical fibers 30 are aligned at the equal interval P/N without overlapping in projection in the main scanning direction. Thus, the picture of a high density is recorded.
