PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic electronic component, with which reliability is improved by preventing adsorption of moisture on the surface, and to provide a producing method therefor. SOLUTION: By forming a protecting film, which can be provided by dehydrating and condensing organic silicon compounds on external electrodes 9 and 10 on the surface and outer periphery of a ceramic element assembly 4, adsorption of moisture on the surface can be prevented, and reliability is greatly improved.
