PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method by which high resolution is ensured and an image forming device. SOLUTION: In the image forming method using at least a photoreceptor, a toner and an exposure system, the photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer containing oxy-titanium phthalocyanine having a distinct diffraction peak at 27.3 deg. Bragg angle (2θ±0.2) in X-ray diffraction with CuKαrays, the photoreceptor is subjected to digital image exposure at >=600 dots/inch recording dot density with the exposure system and the toner used in the development of an electrostatic latent image formed by the exposure has 3-9μm volume average particle diameter. The proportion of particles each having a particle diameter not exceeding 55% of the volume average particle diameter to all the constituent particles of the toner is <=5.0 vol.%.
