PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for computer graphics rendering for a fog visual effect. SOLUTION: This method for the computer graphics rendering for the fog visual effect divides polygons representing objects in a scene between polygons in front of a fog and polygons at the back of the fog. When the polygon of an object expands in front of the fog, fog coloring is not applied to the polygon, when the polygon exists inside the fog or at the back of the fog, the fog coloring is blended in relation to a distance from a viewpoint in the scene. By using the method, a very realistic fog visual effect can be accomplished and calculations and drawing expenses can be minimized. |
