PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor free of the risk that a high pressure gas leaks to the low pressure side and capable of suppressing drop of the volume efficiency of compressor and the energy consuming efficiency by introducing such a structure that a taper is provided inclining to the side on which the high pressure of a ring-shaped seal member acts, the force applied to the taper is allowed to act both in the radial and axial directions, and that the gap between the ring-shaped seal member and seal groove is sealed. SOLUTION: A main frame 10 is fitted with seal groove 12, which is furnished with ring-shaped seal member 11, whereby the inside and outside of the back face of an end plate 5a are partitioned being sealed in such a way that different pressures act, and a resilient member 13 to press the ring-shaped seal member 11 to a revolving scroll 5 is installed between the oversurface of the seal groove 12 and the ring-shaped seal member 11, and the taper 11a to incline in such a way that the oversurface narrows is provided at the upper corner part of either of the inside and outside where a high pressure acts on the ring-shaped seal member 11, and a slope 12a mating with the taper 11a and inclining parallel therewith is formed in the upper part of the seal groove 12, and the resilient member 13 is positioned between the slope 12a and taper 11a.
