PURPOSE: A negative-pressure air bearing slider is provided in a structure that a stepped portion is formed in a negative-pressure rail to restrict variation in pressure even when a skew angle is changed, to thereby stably maintain elevation height of the negative-pressure rail. CONSTITUTION: A negative-pressure air bearing slider(100) includes a pair of front rails(120) arranged having an inflow path through which air flows in between them, a negative-pressure rail(130) that is placed behind the front rails, forms an exhaust path connected to the inflow path, and forms a negative-pressure space(150) in which negative pressure is formed according to air flow, and a back rail(140) that is located behind the negative-pressure rail and has a magnetic head(170) at one side. A stepped portion(131) is formed in the negative-pressure rail. The stepped portion is protruded to the exhaust path.
