PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease power consumption of a fixing device by making energy (power) required for heating of a heating roll to the necessary minimum in an image forming device utilizing an electrophotographic system. SOLUTION: In the device, the temperature of the surfaces of an upper heating roll 31 and a lower heating roll 32 is detected by an upper temperature sensor 35 and a lower temperature sensor 36, respectively, the time for the surface temperature of each heating roll 31 and 32 to reach a given temperature is predicted from the rate of variation of the surface temperature and a carrying mechanism 21 is controlled so that the fixing device 3 is reached by the paper P to be transferred on the predicted point of time. |
