PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an electronic store, and electronic mall, etc., to request distribution or to confirm a distribution situation to respective distribution companies by a unified method without regard to the difference of the distribution companies. SOLUTION: A method for connecting the electronic mall or the electronic store and the plural distribution companies has two steps. At the first step, a physical distribution gateway is provided between the electronic mall or the electronic store and the distribution companies, the physical distribution gateway receives the distribution request of merchandise from the electronic mall or the electronic store, selects the distribution company of a requesting destination, converts the distribution request into a form suited to the distribution company of the requesting destination and transmits the converted distribution request in a timing and with a protocol suited to the distribution company of the requesting destination. At the second step, the physical distribution gateway obtains distribution information from the distribution company, converts the distribution information to a form common to the respective distribution companies and informs the electronic mall and the electronic store of the distribution information. |
