The refrigerated display counter has a thermally- insulated container (8) with a goods display platform (12) and an evaporator and a fan positioned beneath the latter, for delivering a cooling air stream directed across the displayed goods. The cooling air stream flows through elongate slit in the goods display platform and is deflected by a rear air deflection plate (2) for passing across the displayed goods from the back to the front.
