PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vaporizing type liquid fuel combustion device for reducing generation of a smell by suppressing the generation of unburnt gas at its extinguishing. SOLUTION: The liquid fuel combustion device comprises a closed-end cylindrical vaporizing cylinder 3, to the tip of which a burner head 16 is attached and the internal part of which forms a vaporizing chamber 4; a fuel nozzle part 7 having a fuel nozzle 7A through which liquid fuel is injected in the vaporizing chamber 4 of the vaporizing cylinder 3; a fuel pump 8 to feed liquid fuel to the fuel nozzle part 7 via an oil transfer pipe 6; and a motor-driven on-off valve mechanism 30 to open the fuel nozzle 7A during operation of the fuel pump 8 and close the fuel nozzle 7A during the stoppage of the operation of the fuel pump 8.
