PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the process for loading a fiber included in a pulp to be filled with calcium carbonate by a chemical reaction more, and especially to obtain the highest possible cost effectiveness and the highest possible quality of the pulp. SOLUTION: This process for loading the fiber included in the pulp with the calcium carbonate by the chemical reaction comprises adding a medium containing calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide to the pulp, bringing the pulp subjected to such treatment into contact with pure carbon dioxide or a further medium containing the carbon dioxide, especially at least in one reactor, while regulating the pH of the pulp during the chemical reaction according thereto to ensure the substantially complete conversion of the calcium oxide and/or the calcium hydroxide, and the carbon dioxide of the starting materials to the calcium carbonate and water of the reaction product.
