The rapier loom drive (1) has a wheel (2) to drive a rapier belt (3), and be driven by a gear segment (9) mounted on a fixed axle (8). The wheel is connected to a crank arm (12) mounted on a fixed axle (11) via a connecting rod (13) linking gear segment and crank arm at coupling points (24, 25) each a distance from the associated fixed axle. There are means (28, 30) for adjusting the position of the connecting rod coupling point (24) on the crank arm circumferentially w.r.t. its fixed axle.
