<p>A device for collecting mercury or other heavy metal in mining sites, comprising a structure (10), electrolytic cells (30), which are vertically aligned and spaced from each other, occupying at least part of the width and depth of the device, each electrolytic cell having a mercurialized bottom wall (31) and a pair of side walls (13, 14), each bottom wall (31) presenting leveled side edges and inlet and outlet end edges (31a, 31b) for the slime or pulp flow (F) to be processed, and being slightly inclined, in order to cause the gravimetrical displacement of the slime or pulp from the inlet end edge (31a) to the outlet end edge (31b) of each bottom wall (31), and thence vertically to the inlet end edge (31a) of the bottom wall (31) of the electrolytic cell (30) disposed immediately below, the lowermost electrolytic cell (30) having its bottom wall (35) perforated and disposed on a tray (40) for collecting heavy metal, and with its outlet end edge (35b) of decontaminated slime or pulp flow being connected to the environment.</p> |
