<p>A coating material for forming a titanium oxide film, characterized in that it contains (A) a titanium-containing aqueous solution which is prepared by mixing at least one titanium compound selected from among a hydrolyzable titanium compound, a low condensation product of a hydrolyzable titanium compound, a titanium hydroxide and a low condensation product of titanium hydroxide with an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution, and (B) at least one halide selected from among a titanium halide, a salt of a titanium halide, a zirconium halide, a salt of a zirconium halide, a silicon halide, a salt of a silicon halide; a method for forming a titanium oxide film, characterized in that it comprises applying the coating material on a metal substrate, followed by drying; and an surface treating agent for a metal substrate, an after-treatment agent for a phosphate-treated surface of a metal substrate, and the like, which comprise the coating material for forming a titanium oxide film.</p> |
