A UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN) includes a Radio Network Controller (RNC) 100 and a node B 200. The node B includes a hardware module and a software module for storing channel setup information. When a failure of a resource such as a channel card in the node B occurs, the software module re-allocates resources to the affected channels using the stored channel setup information without reporting the failure to the RNC. Then the software module reports a change of the resources to the RNC. The node B thus restores the failure by itself without waiting for a setup order from the RNC. On the other hand, if a call is allocated to the failed resource, the software module reports a call failure to the RNC.
|
