In a ceramic filter element (A), especially a filter candle, for hot gas filtration with a first layer, in the flow direction, for deposition of particles and a second supporting layer in the form of particles, binder and catalyst, the binder contains or is (partly) replaced by the catalyst material and the particles of supporting material are bound by the catalyst and/or binder. Independent claims are also included for (a) a similar ceramic filter element (B), in which the supporting material is (partly) replaced by catalyst material; (b) methods of producing the filter elements; (c) filter candles for hot gas filtration, in the form of a cylindrical molding, closed at one end, in which the internal cavity is filled with a loose bed of catalyst material and the open end is provided with a cover. |
