<p>The system of treatment, recycling and utilization of toxic, solid, liquid and gaseous residues permits the employment of an innocuous solution in substitution of incineration and large sanitary embankments without generating sub-products or toxic effluents. Solid residues are ground. The residues are injected into a reactor containing a bath of liquid metal, in the presence of oxidising additives and other catalytic products. Treatment is effected of gaseous effluents coming from the reactor constituted basically by carbon monoxide, hydrogen, small quantities of carbon dioxide and of nitrogen, completely free of dioxins. The gases are passed through a corona plasma unit where the electrons and free radicals generated prevent the gases on cooling forming dioxins. The inorganic substances formed in the process are discharged in parallel, such as chlorine, sulphur and others, together with the excess of liquid metal, in the form of calcium chloride, gypsum and other vitrified products, which are innocuous raw materials suitable for future utilization.</p> |
