PURPOSE: A method is provided to detect the position and posture of a moving object using a beam recognition apparatus, which is able to recognize a slim beam and is installed at a moving object, and a slit beam generating apparatus, which periodically generates a slit beam and is installed at a fixed object. CONSTITUTION: A beam is generated from a beam generating device of a fixed object, and a slit beam is generated from a light source(S1). The slit beam passes a beam recognition device, with the slit beam rotated periodically with regard to a surface by a rotation motor(S2, S3). The beam recognition device recognizes the beam every time, and a recognition signal is transferred to a controller via a cable(S4). The controller detects a beam reaction time and then calculates a phase angle based on the detected beam reaction time(S5, S6).
