PREPARATION METHOD OF POLYCARBONATE RESIN

PURPOSE: A method for preparing a polycarbonate resin is provided, to improve the reaction velocity, thereby allowing a polycarbonate resin with a viscosity mean molecular weight of 15,000 g/mol or more to be obtained at a low temperature, and to make a polycarbonate resin without yellowing. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of melt polymerizing an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a diaryl carbonate in the presence of a catalyst, wherein the catalyst is a mixture comprising a compound which has the nonbonding electron pair of O of S, and a chloride of an alkali metal or an alkali-earth metal by the molar ratio of 20:1 to 1:20. Preferably the compound having the nonbonding electron pair is an oxygen-containing compound selected from the group consisting of tetrahydrofuran, tetrahydropyran, 1,3-dioxane, 1,4-dioxane, 1,3-dioxepane, 1,3-dioxolane-2-one, tetronic acid, trimethylene oxide and 1,3,5-trioxane, or a sulfur-containing compound selected from the group consisting of tetrahydrothiophene, tetrahydrothiopyran-4-one, 1,4-thioxane, 1,3-dithiane, 1,3-dithiolane, ethylene trithiocarbonate, tetrahydrothiophen-3-one, thianaphthene, trimethylene sulfide and 1,3,5-trithiane.
