PURPOSE: A method for preparing a coating material using a poly(vinyl alcohol) and nano carbon fiber is provided to obtain an electromagnetic wave shielding and antistatic uniform coating which is useful as an electromagnetic wave-shielding paint of the interior of a building or a housing material for electronic or electrical products. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing 10-30 wt% of a poly(vinyl alcohol), 70-90 wt% of water, and 0.5-3 parts by weight of a nonionic surfactant with an HLB(hydrophilic-lipophilic balance) value of 10-14 as a dispersing agent and 0.1-2 parts by weight of a silicone antifoaming agent based on 100 parts by weight of the poly(vinyl alcohol), and stirring them at a temperature of 80-100 deg.C for 2-4 hours to prepare a poly(vinyl alcohol) aqueous solution; and adding 20-50 parts by weight of nano carbon fiber to the aqueous solution based on 100 parts by weight of the poly(vinyl alcohol), and mixing them by using a homogenizer. The nano carbon fiber used is such that it is heated at a temperature of 1,000-1,100 deg.C for 1-20 hours. |
