PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas discharge display panel that has proper luminous efficiency and high luminance. SOLUTION: The display panel comprises mainly a display common electrode of the front substrate and a display scan electrode of the rear substrate, which perform long distance counterposed alternating current discharge, and a positive column discharge that is capable of discharging at a low current is formed, and efficient driving is made.
