PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide automatic answering telephone equipment capable of remote control from the destination of visit by avoiding unnecessary line capture in respect to the opposite party and capturing a line as conventionally when the manager of the relevant automatic answering telephone equipment originates a telephone call from the destination of visit. SOLUTION: This equipment has a voice storage means 17 for recording a message or the like, a telephone number storage means 18 for storing the telephone number of the destination of visit when the telephone call is originated from the destination of visit to the relevant automatic answering telephone equipment, a telephone number register means which is provided in the telephone number storage means 18 for registering the telephone number of the destination of visit and a message memory full judging means for judging whether the voice storage means 17 is full or not. When there is a telephone call from the party and the telephone number of the party is reported by a caller number reporting function, it is judged whether that number is a telephone number stored in the telephone number storage means 18 or not and when the number is different from the stored telephone numbers, the line is not captured in respect to an incoming call from the party.
