PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric resonator that solves problems of the reliability of a joining part in a structure of directly soldering a metallic panel to an opening of a ceramic-made cavity and of the increase in the cost and number of components in a structure where an earth plate is used for the opening of the ceramic-made cavity to mount a printed circuit board and that can easily cope with the opening of the cavity even when the shape of the opening is complicated, to provide a filter and a duplexer using the dielectric resonator, and to provide a communication unit employing them. SOLUTION: Upper and lower openings of ceramic-made cavities 1a, 1b in which dielectric cores 2a, 2b are integrally provided are clamped by upper and lower panels 3, 4 via earth plates 5a, 5b, 6a and 6b and screw-fastened by screws 8.
