PEER LEVEL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD USING NETWORK INTERFACE CARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peer level communication system and method that enhances the throughput of a network. SOLUTION: This invention provides a system and method used for a computer system having a bus connected to 1st and 2nd devices and a network interface circuit where either of the 1st and 2nd devices can be communicated with a computer network via the network interface circuit and provides the computer system incorporating the system or the method. In one embodiment, this system includes (1) a transport stack circuit that is connected between the bus and the network interface circuit and provides a socket layer access with respect to the network interface circuit via the bus and includes (2) a channel control circuit that establishes a specific channel to attain a peer to peer socket layer access among the 1st and 2nd devices and the transport interface circuit with respect to the transport stack circuit.
