The spray nozzle for a water desalination plant has a cylindrical turbulence chamber (1) for the liquid. It has an inlet duct (3) positioned tangentially to the chamber at its upstream end (7). A discharge diffuser (5) at the downstream end of the chamber sprays the liquid as a liquid cone. The turbulence chamber has a stepped surface (9) at its upstream end, staged in height from the exterior to the interior relative to the inlet duct.
