PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed optical communication unit with a large scale in a configuration that selects and switches a signal transmission path in an optical region. SOLUTION: An address extract section 101 extracts address information in data information, a variable frequency RF modulation section 102 converts the data information into an RF modulation signal with a prescribed frequency corresponding to a low-order address, a variable wavelength optical modulation section 103 converts the data information into an optical signal with a prescribed wavelength corresponding to a high-order address and provides an output of the optical signal. An optical router section 105 outputs respective optical signals depending on an optical wavelength of a received optical signal. A 1st RF optical router section 1071 outputs one optical signal from its 1st or 2nd output terminal depending on its RF modulation frequency. A 2nd RF optical router section 1072 similarly outputs one optical signal from its 1st or 2nd output terminal depending on its RF modulation frequency. First - fourth optical reception circuits 1091-1094 respectively convert the input optical signal from corresponding output terminals of the 1st and 2nd RF optical router sections 1071, 1072 into electric signals. |
