PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently mount components using a plurality of positioning sections by shortening the time required for replacement of objects to be mounted with components at those positioning sections before and after mounting. SOLUTION: While self-advancing and going around on a closed loop track between a component supplying section 2 and the positioning sections 5 for positioning the objects 3 to be mounted with components, mounting heads 6 repeatedly pick up components 1 at the component supplying section 2 and then carry and mount them onto the objects 3 to be mounted with components. The objects 3 to be mounted with components are carried into and out of the respective positioning sections 5 disposed at two or more places on the closed loop track 7 through separate carry-in and carry-out paths 8. The objects 3 to be mounted with components are carried into the respective positioning sections 5, positioned, and then carried out of the positioning sections 5 independently without synchronizing with each other.
