INTERCONNECTION BETWEEN REMOTE COMMUNICATION MS-SP RING AND SNCP RING NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interconnection architecture between an MS-SP (multiplexed section share protection) ring network and an SNCP ring network by means of the 'dual node and bridge and switch' architecture through a primary interconnection node M and a secondary interconnection node N connected by an optical fiber span. SOLUTION: The primary interconnection node M includes a means that executes Drop and Continue (D and C operations) and a service selector SSM for each circuit. This architecture provides termination of an SNCP ring network RING2 via the service selector SSM of the primary node M of the MS-SP ring network. This method simplifies the management of the selector that reduces I/O interfaces and optical fibers in use so as to more efficiently utilize an available band.
